Filing for bankruptcy isn’t as easy as you might expect—there are a number of actions you need to take both before and during filing in order to make your bankruptcy legally binding. Read below to find out what you need.

Before Filing


Check List Prior To Filing Bankruptcy

  • Proof of all forms of income for past 7 months (Before Filing)
  • (Check stubs; Social Security, Disability, & Retirement award letters; Unemployment printout)
  • Federal & State tax returns two years prior to filing (including W-2s and 1099s)
  • Pre-filing Consumer Credit Counseling Course: (see download below)
  • Copies of Auto Insurance Declaration Page Showing Coverage & Cost.
  • Copies of vehicle Registrations and/or Titles.
  • Copies of All Bank Statements covering date of filing and six months prior.
  • Copies of bills, collection letters, lawsuits, etc. (evidence of debt)
